Description

🌵 Echeveria runyonii ‘Topsy Turvy’

Common Name: Topsy Turvy Echeveria
Family: Crassulaceae

🌟 Plant Description:

‘Topsy Turvy’ is a unique and eye-catching succulent known for its curled, spoon-shaped leaves that twist upwards in a beautiful rosette formation. Its silvery-blue to grayish-green leaves appear as if they’re growing in reverse — hence the name ‘Topsy Turvy’.

🌱 Key Features:

  • Rosette Size: Can grow up to 6–8 inches wide.

  • Leaves: Curved, fleshy, and powdery; they arch backward giving a wavy, whimsical look.

  • Flowers: Produces orange to coral-colored bell-shaped flowers on long stalks during late summer or fall.

  • Growth: Fast-growing for a succulent and easily propagates through offsets or leaf cuttings.

🌞 Care Tips:

  • Light: Loves full sun to bright indirect light. More light brings out better leaf form and coloration.

  • Water: Follow the “soak and dry” method — water thoroughly when soil is dry.

  • Soil: Well-draining cactus or succulent mix is ideal.

  • Temperature: Best between 18°C–27°C (65°F–80°F). Not frost-tolerant.

  • Fertilizer: Light feeding once in spring and summer with a succulent fertilizer.

Why You’ll Love It:

  • Its twisted and sculptural appearance makes it a conversation piece in succulent collections.

  • Ideal for containers, rock gardens, or sunny windowsills.

  • Low-maintenance and drought-tolerant — great for beginners!
