Description

The ruffled fan Palm plant, scientifically known as Dypsis lutescens or Chrysalidocarpus lutescens, is a popular and highly sought-after indoor palm tree. It is native to Madagascar and belongs to the Arecaceae family.

The ruffled Palm is characterized by its feathery and arching fronds, which give it a graceful and tropical appearance.

  • Trunk: A single, slender trunk that remains relatively short compared to other palms.
  • Flowers & Fruits: Produces small, red fruits and yellow-green flowers, though they are less prominent than its foliage.
  • Growth Habit: Slow-growing and thrives in warm, humid environments.

Growing Conditions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade. Direct sun can scorch its leaves.
  • Soil: Needs well-draining, rich soil with good moisture retention.
  • Watering: Requires regular watering, keeping the soil moist but not waterlogged.
  • Temperature & Humidity: Thrives in warm (above 60°F or 15°C), humid climates. Not frost-tolerant.
  • Maintenance: Low-maintenance but needs protection from strong winds that can damage its delicate leaves.
